I had a very busy day planned. Had to cross town twice to get a couple jobs done and with this nagging cold I couldn’t wait to get back to my place and into bed to strategize my next big move. Then as I was poised to cut into the day, Renee’ calls to say her water heater’s dead and she’s in a panic, really ready to drop $600 on a new one I say “No way. Check the pilot light and the neighbors -maybe the gas is just out temporarily,” and she says she did and it’s dead, like Obama’s fly.  Okay, I’ll be over and agonized as to how everything was going to work. Ten minutes later she calls back to say “No worries. I fixed it.” I was  so impressed with her action I  graduated her to junior plumber status. She has what it takes to “fix a squeak.”
